Semper Barat Urban Village Head, Sukarmin, said the cleaning was aimed to prevent inundation that can disturb traffic flow.

Sukarmin explained the activity was run to respond local resident's report related to waste blocking the channel.
"About three ton of waste consisting of used workshop materials, cans, bottles and pieces of wood were successfully cleaned up. Now the channel is already clean," he added.
He continued that Semper Barat Urban Village will maintain the environmental cleanliness in the area.
Meanwhile, one of local residents, Jefry (38), appreciated the activity since the area was often inundated when rain pours.
"Hopefully there will be no more inundation in the area," he admitted.
